Club Contest Results - 2009

Congratulations to everyone that helped us grab 7th place in the 2009 contest – in particular John, Chris, Mark, Ben, Kath, Kev and Les and anyone else I’ve missed.

If we can get more taking part this year surely we can improve on 7th can’t we? Once again it was 7th based on 6 months participation!!  Come on all you out there – it’s fun and it hones your operating skills  – get on the air next Tuesday – 8 till 10:30pm SSB and FM – they all count, if you don’t submit a log we can’t hope to improve.

Best 73 from me and 88 from Kath

M0TXR Contest Result

Check out the RSGBs  VHF Contest  site – and the results for the 144MHz CW Contest – look who’s come top of the pile – G7HOA/A operated by Mac, M0TXR  http://www.rsgbcc.org/vhf/results/09/144marconi.html

Very well done to Mac – congratulations.  Goes to show if you don’t enter you can’t win.

I know contests aren’t every-ones cup of tea, nor is morse but they do help you  hone your operating skills to a fine art!!

Once again have a great Christmas everyone and a prosperous New Year – hope Santa brings you everything you asked for and hope to catch some of you on the air over the festive season.

2 metre UKAC Results

Well done to everyone that took part or gave us points – the club finished 17th overall and 3rd in the North- West and December was our best result.  Excellent when you think that we only took part in half the sessions – so double our score and we’d have come 8th

Congratulations to the individual stations – Ben – someone has to prop up us all up – well done though.  Jon G6VS was top scorer coming 53rd out of 289 (Ben).

For 2010 we need more stations taking part – remember 1st session is 5th Jan.
